Georgian Chrysoberyl 15k Rose Gold Ring

This is an absolutely rare and incredible example of Georgian Chrysoberyl Jewelry. Acquired from Brazil, this ring was most definitely a Portugese piece that belonged to the royals and nobles who flocked to this rare gem when it was discovered in Brazilian mines in the 1700s; this was the must have jewel for the upper classes of Portugal. These Portugese Georgian Chrysoberyl pieces are almost exclusively from the late 1700s and early 1800s, and are very rare to find on the market. Most of the pieces ended up in convents where royals and nobles bequeathed their jewelry collections in Portugal.

Of those that are on the market, this is a unique piece. Not following the traditional style of other pieces of this period and look, this ring is made of a gorgeous 15k rose gold and adorned with heart shoulders. Perhaps it was a wedding ring? A gift of love among royals? No doubt this piece of jewelry has quite a story to tell, if it could speak.

This is a true piece of history that deserves to be revered and cared for through the next generations.

Georgian jewelry is set with the gems closed back (women then did not worry about wetting their hands the way we do today) and backed with foil to increase the stone's fire. Because of this, this ring should be kept away from liquids, lotions, etc., and should be generally treated with care.
