1900s-1920s Bombé Style Old European Cut Diamond Ring in 18k White Gold

This beautiful example of vintage craftsmanship features an Old European Cut diamond weighing .25 carats. The main stone is set within an elaborate diamond set lattice supported by patterned shoulders and completed with generous milgraining.

Milgraining required that a thin bead of metal securing the stone would be ridged and textured with tiny grains or beads. This effect would create an extremely fine, almost unperceivable rim around the diamond itself to the open work designs and scalloped patterned edges that gave the illusion of fine handmade lace.

The overall look is fine and delicate while also having a large impact. Can't you see an elegant but bold woman of the early 20th century donning this beautiful piece before setting out on the town? Where might she accompany you in life?
