Victorian Navette Diamond Ring with 1.25 tccw of Rose Cut Diamonds and 14k Yellow Gold Setting and Shank
This is a spectacular closed-back navette-style ring from the 1800s. Glittering with approximately 1.25 carats of antique rose cut diamonds, this substantial piece makes a huge impact. Measured at a whopping 26.5mm North-South (over an inch), this beautifully made Victorian piece fits comfortably and smoothly against your finger, and is one of the most breathtaking Victorian statement pieces we have seen. Definitely belonging to a person of note from the 1800s, this would make a gorgeous fashion ring or a trendsetting engagement ring.
If you are a connoisseur, you may recognize this style as a fairly popular outline from Victorian times. This particular piece is an impressive example of this look. Weighing 6.7 grams, the ring is weighty and strong and made beautifully. The diamonds are mounted in a scalloped coronet style head with a bylevel cut out key motif style shank, and it has survived it's 150 plus years absolutely beautifully.
Please note the stones are closed and foil backed, and therefore the ring should not be submerged in liquid.
Some of the foil backing has been darkened a bit through the years, which lends the ring a touch of a moody/dark feel. Depending on the lighting, the ring can flash brightly or can have a moodier look.
