Gorgeous Victorian .56 Carat Old European Cut Diamond Engagement Ring | Vintage Belcher Setting Hallmarked for 1916

"IRIS"
This beautiful and impactful solitaire engagement ring is set in what is called a Belcher setting. Though this ring is from Sweden, Belcher is a quintessentially American style named after designer Thomas Belcher. Most prominent in the mid to late 1800s, it is associated with Victorian times, though the style continued for many years. The most defining feature is the claw prong setting which allows the diamond to lay flush with the ring, and makes it particularly well-suited to rigorous wear.
A still photo does not do Iris justice. The stone is cut beautifully and the sparkle is dazzling. She almost sparkles rainbows. One of the most gorgeous stones I have ever seen, and guaranteed to catch everyone's eye. The gold is 18 karat and so warm and buttery - and the inside of the ring lays flat against the hand and is supremely comfortable. An extremely wearable ring for everyday wear.
